Rupert performed on the Radio 2 show “Hemelbestormers” back in October and was invited back to perform in December after Radio 2 voted him as one of the best performers of 2011 – DJ Stefan Stasse introduced Rupert’s rise from street musician to getting a record deal and performing at a sold out Paradiso as the “story of 2011″. Rupert will be supporting Beth Hart at Paradiso (Grote Zaal) on the 19th December 2011. Rupert will play a full band show, starting at 19:30. The show is already sold out, but maybe if you stand outside somewhere you can hear it? Failing that, if any tickets come available then check Rupert’s Facebook page.

Rupert performed on Radio 1 in July on the “Nederland Nog Steeds Wakker” show. His performance was voted as one of the best 10 performances of the year!

3 Singles Recorded

Even though the album is now written, before recording the entire album the decision was made to record what we felt were the three most “radio friendly” songs first.

Why do this? well…recording an album is a pretty expensive process! So these three single will be used to try to get radio play, television exposure, bookings and ultimately an album deal!

The three singles were recorded in The Netherlands with producer Guido Aalbers.

They sound very clean, crisp and polished….I hope to play them to you all soon!

The next step is to see what happens…I’ll keep you posted!

I am through to the 1/4 finals of the Grote Prijs van Nederland this year – (a national band competition). I will be performing with the band on the 3 June at Plein79 in Den Bosch and encourage EVERYONE to come along as there is also an audience vote…

I, and the band, have worked our little socks off for the last few years on this project and everything has been leading towards where we are, now, so close to being!

At this point I’d like to say thanks to all the support that you all have given. Following me to gigs here there and everywhere, whether Netherlands, Germany, England or France, all the beautiful compliments you give me at shows or online, or on a street corner! All the CDs you have bought, the friends you have told, the links you have shared. It really keeps me going to know that there are quite some people out there now enjoying what I am doing- so thanks.

I know that there have not been many chances to see me play live recently, but all my attention and focus has been on writing and pre-production. Once these tracks are cut hopefully I will be playing lots of shows up and down the country.

See you on the 3rd June. If not before.
